BRCA Umbrella Support

Woah! What a couple of days but we are safe already, for the next year at least.

We have enough to:

• keep the site going for another 12 months
• pay for some printing of leaflets for hospital boards

Donations have been halted for now. It would be wrong to take further donations without having our Team meeting first to discuss the future of BRCA Umbrella and where we can take us. Once this is in place we would like to run a new donation drive. I think we all know that providing Support Groups is essential and we have members who have volunteered to help run these already. We could use funds to run such events but we have to keep all the Ts crossed and Is dotted with the law and so, until then, we will keep the donation drive just for buying us time for the year ahead to put these plans in place.

It's come to this, nothing is free in life as they say, apart from your time. Time is what we've given in creating somewhere for you to go and vent, share, cry, laugh and feel less alone. Volunteers of time.

The time has come where our network platform and all its wonderful features, BRCA Blogs, Dicussion Forum, Member Pages, Photos, Videos, BRCA Info etc is no longer free, we have to pay and that time is nearly upon us.

We are working on other plans to secure our future but you can help us right now. Show us you appreciate our special place and that it is worth saving. We've all invested part of us into BRCA Umbrella and we want to keep it going for you and future Members.

Donate as little as £0.50 or $0.50. With over 650 Members, we could expand our help and organise Cuppa, Cake and Chat Sessions (support groups) in the UK where asuch a system has never been provided for by the NHS. We could do so much more, but for now, just think about losing BRCA Umbrella and all those wonderful, touching, personal experience blogs and discussions. Gone.
